Upload Recommendations

  • Mixing Services

Submission of Pro Tools session or separate audio files (in .WAV or .AIFF). If sending separate files, make sure all audios are consolidated and synchronized by the start of the session timeline. Make sure to upload the files in the SAME BIT DEPTH and SAMPLE RATE used in the recording! Regarding the organization, I suggest just naming the tracks according to the content (avoid tracks with names like audio 1, audio 2, etc). As a suggestion, please send the artist name / track name and some comments on what you expect from the mix (mix ideas, effects, art direction, references, etc).

  • Mastering Services

Submission of final mixes (in .WAV or .AIFF). Make sure to upload the files in the SAME BIT DEPTH and SAMPLE RATE used in the mix! If necessary, I will contact you to request a version of the mix with STEMS (groups). It is not always necessary this to get to the final result, but if I consider it'll help, I will ask for this option. As a suggestion, please send the artist name / track name and some comments about what you expect from mastering (sound aesthetics, references, etc).

Regarding the technical part, just be aware of the peak levels (I recommend leaving a margin of 2 to 3 dB's below 0dBFS)! There is no restriction or rule regarding the loudness (LUFS or RMS levels) of your mix. Any level between -20LUFS and -13LUFS will be OK for the service. Avoid only loudness levels well below these to avoid unnecessary noise floor in your mix! Any master bus processing CAN BE Maintained as long as you don't have a limiter being used as maximizer (with strong limitation). If in doubt, just send it the way you finished it and if necessary I will ask for the adjustments.

  • Music Consultancy / Production

Unless a specific file format or type is required, any available audio may be used for consultancy and early production work. If you have any questions, just contact us by email (contact@nandocostamusic.com).

  • Audio Editing (Instrumental or Voice)

Terms of Service

When hiring any of the music production or audio services, you agree to these terms of service:

    • Hiring

After the initial contact and submission of material for service, we will contact you within 48 hours. You will receive the final quote for your project as well as the payment forms and instructions. We will also return with the approval of the material to perform the service. After the payment confirmation, we will start the project. The delivery time varies from project to project, but in general it is 2 business days for each mix and 1 business day for master (depending on the master, EP or album project, the delivery time is 2 business days).

    • Delivery

When hiring mixing services (no master), the final delivered file will be a .WAV at the same bit depth and sample rate as the original session. For mastering services or mix + master combos, the final files will be: .WAV at original resolution, .WAV at 16 bits / 44.1 kHz, MP3 at 320 kbps, and optimized masters for digital platforms in .WAV (when applicable). For EP's or albums that will be physically duplicated, the final master in DDPi will also be generated free of charge (please request upon hiring). For audio editing services (instrumental or voice), the final work will be delivered in Pro Tools session or separate files exported at the same bit depth and sample rate as the original session.

    • Recalls

Each service includes a certain amount of free recalls (or revisions). A recall would be a change (or set of changes) in mixing or mastering that will generate a new final file (MIX PRINT 2, MIX PRINT 3, MASTER 2, MASTER 3 and so on). Original file replacement in mastering will be considered 1 (one) recall. In the case of mixes, original file replacements are included along with the other adjustments (provided the replaced files are coherent with the original files - any abrupt changes, such as changing the voice track for another track recorded in some other studio, another performance or another singer, may add an extra cost to the job). After the free recalls, any extra changes will have an additional charge (listed in the value table). The amount of free recalls offered is more than enough for any mixing and mastering service of any style and based on the vast majority of hundreds of jobs ever done. A good dialogue and description about the technical and aesthetic direction of the work leads, in most cases, to the final result in 2 or 3 recalls for mixing and mastering.
